New Year, New Attitude

My how the time flies when you're getting older, I mean having fun. I can't believe 2009 is over and a new decade has begun. It's crazy to me to think that 10 years ago, I was finishing my freshman year of high school, just started driving and cheering for the Chattahoochee Cougars (yeah, I said it). Now, I'm practically married (ok, not even engaged yet but you know what I mean), working 5 days a week and have a college degree. I decided that a new decade brings a new me, and new attitude at that.

The old me would be pissed off and quit my New Years resolutions by January 1 approx midnight. This year, so far so good. I decided that I need to work on a few things...not the usual, " I need to lose 10 lbs in 2 weeks cause I'm fat BS," like I usually say, but real things that I think I can work on and make happen (oh, and lose 10 lbs because I'm fat BS added in of course!). So here they are (yes, I have a couple)

1. Limit caffeine intake...take my 3+ Diet Cokes down to 1 a day or none a day!
2. Anger Management...ok not classes like Khloe Kardashian but more so on the lines of
controlling my anger and being slow to anger. I let too much get to me too quick.
3. Getting in touch with old friends and/or keeping up with the friends I have. I've learned life is
too precious to let it get away.
4. Attitude in general. Seven times out of ten I leave work in a bad mood or frustrated. Nine
times out of ten I get in a bad mood which in turn changes my attitude to vicious, I need
to get on the jolly train.
5. Lose 10 lbs because I'm fat (ha I had to!)

Here's to hoping that I can keep them up. We're on day 4, check back next week :)

Who doesn't wanna know about ME?!

1. I’ve come to realize that my body. . . needs to get back out there and run. I'm tired of looking like I used to, need to fix it and eating right and running will help that!

2. I’ve come to realize that my job. . . is a job. I enjoy it and the people I work with, but it is not what I want to do in 5 years. I'd rather be an event planner or a stay at home mom (guess that requires us to have kids...hmmmm)

3. I’ve come to realize that when I’m driving. . . I shouldn't text. I do it too often and get lucky, need to be more attentive and less concerned with the radio station and what my email says!

4. I’ve come to realize that I need. . . to realize I am only 25 and everything doesn’t have to happen by the time I am 30. (that was a good one Brit!)

5. I’ve come to realize that I have lost. . . some of my innocense. I have been exposed to many new things over the years (both good and bad).

6. I’ve come to realize that I hate it when. . . others are sad. I hate people being mad at me or just angry/upset in general. 9 times outa 10 I'm going to try to make it better!

7. I’ve come to realize that if I’m drunk. . .well, I should be sober. I took drinking to a new level a few years ago and have started to cut back.

8. I’ve come to realize that money… not as important as I once thought it was. I'd rather be happy!

9. I’ve come to realize that certain people. . . just aren't going to mesh with me! I can be very loving, but also abrasive if you rub me the wrong way (unlike the genie in the bottle)

10. I’ve come to realize that I’ll always. . . be obsessive compulsive about cleanliness and organization. I clean the house or parts of it every freaking day. It's a problem I have!

11. I’ve come to realize that my sibling(s). . . are pretty cool. Eventhough we were mean to each other growing up, I've learned to appreciate him and his wife.

12. I’ve come to realize that my mom…is the best listener. I can call her anytime and she will listen to me rant and rave about anything under the sun.

13. I’ve come to realize that my cell phone. . . is a necessary evil

14. I’ve come to realize that when I woke up this morning. . . I had to go to work.

15. I’ve come to realize that last night before I went to sleep. . . that I'm pretty lucky to have the life I do. Even when I think things are wrong and messed up, they seem to work out perfect

16. I’ve come to realize that right now I am thinking. . . I'm pretty hungry!

17. I’ve come to realize that my dad. . . always had my best interest at heart, and still does.

18. I’ve come to realize that when I get on Facebook. . . people aren’t as interesting as I thought they were.

19. I’ve come to realize that today. . .is going to waste. I tried to work, but I'm giving up!

20. I’ve come to realize that tonight. . . I'm going to have to watch UGA, but I'll get snuggles and a burger out of it :)

21. I’ve come to realize that tomorrow. . .is the LAST Tuesday of the year. WHOA

22. I’ve come to realize that I really want to. . . be married.

23. I’ve come to realize that the person mostly likely to re-post this is. . . um nobody :)

24. I’ve come to realize that life. . . is about what you make it. I've learned lots and grown a bunch in the past few years. Kept my amazing best friends close and gained a few more friends that I learn things from daily. I have an amazing family and hopefully a new family to join soon as well. I am blessed with an amazing boyfriend, though he likes to push my buttons and drive me crazy, he is wonderful and I am grateful that we are together.

25. I’ve come to realize that this weekend. . . is going to be the first of 2010. Guess I gotta make it a good one!

26. I’ve realized the best music to listen to when I am upset. . . is country music. all the time.

27. I’ve come to realize that my friends. . . are the best! I have 3 best girl friends anyone could ask for. Though they may not live as close as I'd like, I still talk to them or catch up with them weekly and that makes it all the better.

28. I’ve come to realize that this year. . . Is over, and I can't wait for 2010!

29. I’ve come to realize that my husband. . . well, I don't have one, yet. But I do have an amazing boyfriend. Please see #24

30. I’ve come to realize that maybe I should. . . not worry about life. Things fall into place the way they are supposed to.

31. I’ve come to realize that I love. . . the simple pleasures in life.

32. I’ve come to realize that I don’t understand. . . politics or their effect on my life. But I should.

33. I’ve come to realize my past. . . is my past and made me who I am today.

34. I’ve come to realize that parties. . . can be overrated.

35. I’ve come to realize that I’m totally terrified. . . of dying, and well tornados too

36. I’ve come to realize that my life. . . isn't even half over! I'm only 25, I have so much to do and see and can't wait to experience everything!

Ready for some FOOTBALL

If there is only one thing I look forward to each and every year, it's FOOTBALL season! Growing up my parents taught me the ways of Garnet and Gold and that anyone in Blue and Orange was bad (sorry Brit!). To this day, I've stuck true to that, however my Garnet and Gold was traded in for Crimson and White.

After graduating from The University of Alabama (ROLL TIDE) in 2006, my love for college football has grown (is this even possible). I bleed these colors and would do most anything to someone who'd like to argue about how great 'The Bear' was or how awesome the Tide is. The arguments of who's better than who in the SEC is a constant in my life. A majority of my friends went to UGA and other SEC teams. Not to mention, my boyfriend, Mike graduated from UGA, my brother & sis-n-law graduated from UT and even some of my friends went to Auburn (tragic, I know!)
No matter where your honor and alma mater lie, one thing is for sure, everyone LOVES some college football and I can't wait for it to start!

Change of Scenery!

So as of September 14, Mike and I will live together...full time...one house. As much as it is exciting, I can't lie, it's a bit scary as well! We've been doing the two house "living together" thing for a little over a year now and finally decided to get rid of my apartment and for me to move into the condo. So far so good. Moving is going great and I've really made his place my home as well. I even snuck in a few BAMA things :) It's the first time in my life that I feel 100% comfortable with someone else and it is nothing but the best feeling around. I couldn't ask for a more supportive guy! Now, just waiting on one more thing.... A RING!

Can't believe it's been a year!!

My boyfriend, Mike, and I have hit that one year mark! Can't believe it! Seems like we've been together forever and I truly don't remember what life was like without him. He has become my best friend and confidant and the person I turn to first for anything. He's been one of the best things that's ever happened to me. Made me more mature, responsible and domesticated :) We're celebrating our first year together with him running his first triathalon and then going to dinner and having some time alone at one of our new favorite hangouts...Holeman and Finch.

Some of my favorite pictures of Mike and I!

At Folly Beach

At the Wildlife Preserve in N. Georgia

Las Vegas at the Bellagio for Cirque du Solei

Check out Holeman and Finch when you're in Atlanta in the Buckhead area, place is a hidden GEM! It's an awesome low key hang out but can be very romantic!
