the next 10 days are looking so bright ... i might need my sunglasses

Just checked the 10-day weather report for Atlanta. My day has officially been brightened with the results of what I saw.

I can't wait to get outside this weekend and next weekend as well! Looking good Atlanta! Can't wait for girls dinner tonight and Crawfish Boil tomorrow at Kramers! Sunday is family lunch day and hanging out with some friends after they whoop up on the Publix Half Marathon!

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all have a wonderful day and even better weekend!

Friday Favorites : Favorite Football Team

a little early this week....
I L-O-V-E football season!

Fall is my favorite time of year. Not just because the weather cools down and the leaves change, but because it's FOOTBALL SEASON! I was raised that on Saturday's in the fall, you spend your time watching ESPN and any other channel with the beloved pigskin game on. Both of my parents graduated from Florida State University (go noles) so I still root for them, however, my heart lies in Dixie with the CRIMSON TIDE!!
I graduated from the Capstone in 2006 with such pride and joy in my heart not only for my college and my education, but for my team (and all the athletic teams there too!). Not only did the Crimson Tide go undefeated this past season, but they whooped up on the FL Gators (BOOOOO) at the Georgia Dome for the SEC Championship. Thanks to Keith, my best friends dad, Kerri and I got to go to the game! There is nothing better than hearing 'Yea Alabama' as the Tide takes the field to dominate another opponent!

The Tide also brought home the bacon last year with the Big National Championship...WOOOO HOOO. Here's to hoping they can do it again!

So with that, I leave you with a big ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

Friday Favorites: Favorite Fried Green Tomatoes!

My Friday Favorite is a little early this week!

You know you're from the South when you CRAVE Fried Green Tomatoes (FGT)! I mean I've been craving these bad boys for at least a week now...and NO, I'm not pregnant! If I'm out at a restaurant and the menu claims they have FGT, you best bet I'm ordering them! I do have a favorite and I'm very partial to the ones at JCT Kitchen. This place is awesome without the FGT, but lets be honest...it is so much better because they have them...and on a sandwich to boot! If you're not a tomato lover, cause I'm not, you have to give these things a try! In fact, I might have to go find some for lunch today!

What's your favorite fried food?

Friday's Favorites--Girl Scout Cookies

Everyone loves them, nobody can escape them. They are on every corner come the beginning of March! Their colorful boxes and yummy aromas are beyond tempting and lets be honest here, who is going to turn down a cute kid selling you cookies. Not this girl. I LOVE and I mean LOVE Girl Scout Cookies!! In fact, the little girl who sells them to my office gets over half her cookies sold just from my family (thanks, Jason for being a cookie monster!) These delectable cookies are pretty much the only kind of cookie I eat. I'm not prejudice against other cookies, it's just that Girl Scout cookies are the bestest ever! It takes me back to my childhood when I see the girls in their little outfits as I too, once was a Girl Scout...yeah you read that right.

I can't lie, I do have favorites. Each year I try to get a box of the new ones, but they always seem to let me down. My family is notorious for buying tons of boxes a year. However, my long-time favorites...Samoas and Tagalongs...are always there for a pick me up! Only 75 calories a pop (okay, yes I know that's a lot) I can't help but to have at least one a night, until they are all gobbled up and in my tummy!

Which box of Girl Scout cookies are your weakness?

Friday Favorites!

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

I decided to highlight items on Friday that I find I can't live without. Who knows how long this will last, but for now, you can get a sneak peak into my favorite things...which do include ponies, yet not so much apple streudels.

My all time staple item that you can find me in 3-4 days a week--JEANS! I wear them to the office, out with friends, around the house...you name it, I wear them! Right now my favorite brands are Citizens of Humanity and MEK, both of which you can get at Bloomingdales or Nordstrom. I'd like to consider myself a 'jean snob' but that hasn't been the case until recently. I pick my jeans on three things.

1) The color of the denim
2) The pocket design (which correlates directly to the brand)
3) The length/fit and how good it makes my butt look :)

So once a pair of jeans meets all three of these uber strict criteria...they become a winner and well, I purchase more than one pair because I blow through jeans like I do chocolate candy. The only issue ,you see, I have this problem...I have huge tree trunk sized quads, miniature to small size waist and hips and yet midget length legs. That being said, anything I buy, as far as pants go, has to be altered. So finding this perfect jean is critical and very time consuming. Once I find a brand I like, I stick with it. So Citizens of Humanity and MEK numbers and stock just went up...lucky them!
