A Whole Lotta New

I've been on a 'new' streak lately. New clothes, new hair products and my two most recent ... new running shoes and a new car!

Back in October I hit up Big Peach Running Co (the one in Buckhead) for some new kicks. They actually fit your feet and let you test the shoes out to make sure they are right for you. The pair I got then, a great New Balance neutral shoe, finally gassed out a few weeks ago but I kept treading thin on them until I could make it back to Big Peach for a new pair. Low and behold, here are my new workout/running friends ... the K-Swiss K-Ona for Women in silver/orange!

They are great, lightweight running shoes made by K-Swiss. Neutral with a little stability and good arch support if you're interested in a new pair and your feet meet that criteria. The color scheme is pretty awesome too. I love the silver and although the orange is a bit bright, it's not too flashy. I ran in them for the first time this morning and loved them! Word of caution though, if you get these kicks, be sure to stretch your calves post workout ... the way your foot sits in the sole of these causes calf pain in the beginning ... what doesn't kill you makes you stronger!

In other new news ... I said 'bye' to my beloved Acura, Rudy and 'hello' to my new Jeep Grand Cherokee (70th Anniversary), Conrad! While I don't have any pictures of my own to show you just yet, here's what a professional version looks like!

Ours is silver with black interior, probably not smart for the summer, but okay for the winter! Conrad has all the bells and whistles I could possibly need. I love being in a bigger car, again, yet the gas prices really are already killing me when I look at how much it takes to fill it up! I'll try to get some shots of the interior and my favorite part, a picture of Kona in my dash!

Another Week ... Oy!

Hello, Monday. So we meet again. Thanks to my 5:15am wakeup call and intense BLAST class this morning, we've already been hanging out a while. Hopefully I'll be saying bye-bye and Hello Tuesday soon!

Yesterday we headed up to my parents for my belated birthday lunch. The food was super yummy and the cake was to die for. How cute is this cake? My sister-in-law got it from Whole Foods. It was almost too pretty to eat. It tasted just as good as it looked!

I also got some great stuff from my family. AMEX gift card and Pottery gift card from my parents (and Bailey Boo, our family puppy), an ADORABLE J.Crew 'Just Married' tote (I'll snap a photo tonight) and a gift certificate to Duke's Restaurant in Hawaii. With the help of my sneaky fiance, my sister-in-law/brother found this restaurant and knew it was at one of the hotels we're staying at in Kauai! Such a unique and useful gift! Can't wait to get some good stuff with all my gift cards and to use my tote on the honeymoon!

This week is starting off slow, but will end with a bang. My sister-in-law and I will be heading to JCrew for a private event at their Lenox location on Thursday. She's more than excited about meeting Jenna (JCrew's resident fashion aficionado) and getting some shopping in. Also, Mike is leaving for his bachelor party in Las Vegas on Thursday with a few of the guys. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned/nervous/sick to my stomach about what will go on out there. I've made myself clear to all parties attending how I feel about certain things. Lets hope they keep it in check while having a wonderful (drunk) time. Thank goodness my girlfriends will be keeping me in check while he is gone. Saturday, while Mike is partying it up on the Vegas strip, I'll be having a good time myself in the Virginia Highlands. My friends and I will be hitting up Pozole restaurant and bar hopping/causing a ruckus post dinner. Look out Atlanta, this could get interesting!

In other news, I paid off one of my credit cards this past weekend! It feels so good to know that I don't owe anymore on that card. I'm halfway done with my other card and should have it paid off by the end of May. Once that's done...it's time for a new car! I blogged back in January about my choices and I'm still unsure of what I want. This too will come down to a numbers game ... so get ready to wheel and deal! Mommy wants a new ride!

This week also marks the downhill to the wedding. 40 days til the wedding to be exact. I'm not real sure where the last 326 days have gone. What I do know is that I've still got a lot to do in 40 days. God willing the hangover isn't too bad, I'll be heading to my parents on Sunday to get some stuff done with my mom. The little things on the list are piling up and we've got to get them tackled. It'll be April 30th before we know it.

Update on RSVP's. We've had a cease on receiving them in the mail. I haven't received an RSVP in almost a week. Yes, I'm that sad about it. I get so excited when a red envelope is in the mail!

Total Number of Invites Sent : 90
Total Number of People Invited : 182
RSVP Cards in Limbo : 33
YES - 99
NO - 6 (so really 11 ppl)
Worst Case Scenario - 162

The RSVP deadline is fast approaching ... only 2 more weeks! I sure hope we get all the responses in by then. Really don't want to have to call and hound people to find out if they are attending or not! So if you're reading this and are invited to the wedding and have YET to send in your RSVP...GET ON IT!!

Pondering A New Ride

My first car was a 1998 2-Door Tahoe and it was my baby. Named Patrik, for its color and for the fact I got it around my birthday/St. Patrick's day, it was a teenagers dream. It had a lift, nice tires and everything I need to run a muck and cause some trouble. I had this car until I was a junior in college and decided I needed something more mature and safe to drive. My parents (God love them) obliged and bought me my next car....Rudy. I've had my Acura TSX since 2004 (bought new) and it's lasted me this long. While it's red roof has turned a pink shade (because of a defect in the Acura paint for that color) and it's got a nice scrape on the side (dang you mr. pole in my parking deck), Rudy has been a good and loyal car.

However, now I think it's time to put Rudy to rest and introduce myself to a new friend...not yet to be named.

I've been interested in 2 cars, ok really they are both SUVs, for a while now. I've driven both (well currently test driving one for the weekend) and both are great. I am tired of having a car and want more space. Whatever we get now I imagine having for a few years so it needs to be kid friendly and safe.

Enter my choices : Mr. Acura MDX and Mr. Jeep Grand Cherokee

Mr. Jeep Grand Cherokee is the new 2011 body style. I'm interested in the Laredo X package (with navigation and sun roof) in White with Light Grey leather.

Mr. Acura MDX is the new 2011 body style also. I'm interested in the MDX with the technology package (with navigation and sun roof) in White with Light Grey leather.

Both drive great. Both have all the bells and whistles I demand, I mean need! Only difference, one is about $10,000 cheaper than the other. We're looking to purchase sometime between now and the end of March so I've got to get my decision ready!

If you had to pick, which would it be?
