Jetsetting Once Again ...

The call of duty has once again been in order. I'm off again as of early tomorrow afternoon. This time I'm heading to Nashville, TN for some business dinners and meetings. From there on Friday, I'll be heading to (hopefully) sunny Hilton Head Island to celebrate a birthday and bachelorette party with my dear friend, Kristin.

While gone I'll be missing out on Mike's 29th birthday this coming Friday. I hate to miss his first birthday that we're married, but when the travel came up for work and the bachelorette was being planned, it didn't leave me much choice. So on Friday, while he's out with a bunch of friends at the Braves game, I'll be in Hilton Head with some of my friends, probably wishing I was with him. So instead of celebrating later, we're celebrating early ... as in tonight.

We're heading to dinner at Local Three. A new favorite restaurant of mine. I was just there last Monday as well with some of my girlfriends and the food was great at the chefs table! Since Mike's never been, I'm looking forward to introducing him to a new restaurant. Post dinner, my plan is to hit up another new favorite place of mine, YogurtLand. They have fab flavors and toppings and I'm just hoping that Mike will be willing to go since I've been craving it for days now...and no, I'm not preggo!

I'm also kinda sad that I'll be missing running the Peachtree Road Race this year as well. I was looking forward to getting back out there and beating my time from 2010 and wearing my tshirt proudly. Instead of me using my number, a friend of ours is running in my place. I sure hope he does well.

Post Nashville and beach time this weekend, I'm hoping to just chill out on the actual 4th of July and enjoying some quality time with Mike and friends since I wont be seeing much of him or them this week/weekend.

Another Week ... Oy!

Hello, Monday. So we meet again. Thanks to my 5:15am wakeup call and intense BLAST class this morning, we've already been hanging out a while. Hopefully I'll be saying bye-bye and Hello Tuesday soon!

Yesterday we headed up to my parents for my belated birthday lunch. The food was super yummy and the cake was to die for. How cute is this cake? My sister-in-law got it from Whole Foods. It was almost too pretty to eat. It tasted just as good as it looked!

I also got some great stuff from my family. AMEX gift card and Pottery gift card from my parents (and Bailey Boo, our family puppy), an ADORABLE J.Crew 'Just Married' tote (I'll snap a photo tonight) and a gift certificate to Duke's Restaurant in Hawaii. With the help of my sneaky fiance, my sister-in-law/brother found this restaurant and knew it was at one of the hotels we're staying at in Kauai! Such a unique and useful gift! Can't wait to get some good stuff with all my gift cards and to use my tote on the honeymoon!

This week is starting off slow, but will end with a bang. My sister-in-law and I will be heading to JCrew for a private event at their Lenox location on Thursday. She's more than excited about meeting Jenna (JCrew's resident fashion aficionado) and getting some shopping in. Also, Mike is leaving for his bachelor party in Las Vegas on Thursday with a few of the guys. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned/nervous/sick to my stomach about what will go on out there. I've made myself clear to all parties attending how I feel about certain things. Lets hope they keep it in check while having a wonderful (drunk) time. Thank goodness my girlfriends will be keeping me in check while he is gone. Saturday, while Mike is partying it up on the Vegas strip, I'll be having a good time myself in the Virginia Highlands. My friends and I will be hitting up Pozole restaurant and bar hopping/causing a ruckus post dinner. Look out Atlanta, this could get interesting!

In other news, I paid off one of my credit cards this past weekend! It feels so good to know that I don't owe anymore on that card. I'm halfway done with my other card and should have it paid off by the end of May. Once that's done...it's time for a new car! I blogged back in January about my choices and I'm still unsure of what I want. This too will come down to a numbers game ... so get ready to wheel and deal! Mommy wants a new ride!

This week also marks the downhill to the wedding. 40 days til the wedding to be exact. I'm not real sure where the last 326 days have gone. What I do know is that I've still got a lot to do in 40 days. God willing the hangover isn't too bad, I'll be heading to my parents on Sunday to get some stuff done with my mom. The little things on the list are piling up and we've got to get them tackled. It'll be April 30th before we know it.

Update on RSVP's. We've had a cease on receiving them in the mail. I haven't received an RSVP in almost a week. Yes, I'm that sad about it. I get so excited when a red envelope is in the mail!

Total Number of Invites Sent : 90
Total Number of People Invited : 182
RSVP Cards in Limbo : 33
YES - 99
NO - 6 (so really 11 ppl)
Worst Case Scenario - 162

The RSVP deadline is fast approaching ... only 2 more weeks! I sure hope we get all the responses in by then. Really don't want to have to call and hound people to find out if they are attending or not! So if you're reading this and are invited to the wedding and have YET to send in your RSVP...GET ON IT!!

Hello 27! So far ... You're Looking Alright!

First off, a big THANK YOU to the ladies for a super fun Bachelorette/Birthday weekend! I had a blast! I'll be posting about the trip with some pictures as soon as I get them from the girls!

My 27th Birthday was yesterday. For the first time in years it wasn't a 'big' ordeal. In fact, it didn't really feel like it was my birthday. We'll chalk that up to being tired, semi-hungover and in a car for 4 hours on the way home from Nashville. Regardless, it was and now I'm older. I'm a whopping 27 years old now.

Mike and I went to dinner at Brio to celebrate since it was walking distance and we had a gift card. The weather was nice so we sat on the patio and enjoyed the people watching in Buckhead. He also kindly got me a piece of cake from the Publix bakery, a man after my own heart! While I didn't have any gifts to open, I did find out one heck of a nice gift will be arriving early April. What is it you may ask...well have a lookie here ...
Yep, that's right. Mike got me the new white 32GB iPad 2 with the green smart cover! I CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY WITH THIS BAD BOY! Unfortunately, I'll have to wait a little while longer to enjoy it! This will certainly come in handy on the honeymoon and for the years to come....well, until they come out with an iPad 3 of course!

On another note, I'll be heading to one of my favorite little Buckhead spots, Tin Lizzy, with some good friends tonight for some birthday fun. Maybe then it'll feel like I just turned a year older? I'll also keep the celebration going this coming weekend with my family on Sunday. Who says birthday's can't last longer than one day?!

March HHBC WrapUp

Erin and I (with the traveling apron!)
I blogged late in 2010 about our group's supper club, The Hungry Hungry Bitches. We're still meeting consistently every 1st Wednesday of the month. We all get together to laugh, have fun, drink wine and talk some smack. Each set of hosts or each hosts really tries to make it unique. This month, Erin and I hosted HHBC at her house and our theme was Green for St. Patrick's Day! Not only was it our St. Patrick's Day HHBC, but also our sweet friend, Heidi's birthday!

On the menu we had the following:
Green Apps galore
Lemon Fusilli Pasta (via my recipe from Barefoot Contessa). *didn't follow it exact and added some pancetta!
Garlic Bread
Salad
YUMMY Desserts!

Some of the HHBC's

Erin and Birthday Girl, Heidi eating some cake!
Next month, Maria and Mary are hosting and I can't wait to see what they come up with!

Where Has The Time Gone?

This past weekend our sweet friends hosted a shower for us. I wish I took more pictures, but I've only got a few. I left the others on the camera at home on accident, but here are two cute ones from the party. Once I get some from Devon (who co-hosted the shower and also is a professional photog) I'll post the rest! Thanks again to everyone who came and a BIG THANKS to Courtney, Devon and Maria for hosting the shower. We had an absolute blast ... even if the keys fell down the elevator shaft and there was chex mix on the floor.
Our little family!
adorable personalized wine bottles!

In other news, I can't believe it's almost March...as in, tomorrow is March. Holy Crap! I'll be 27 in only 14 days and we'll be partying it up in Nashville for my Bachelorette party! Speaking of my birthday, this is the first year in I don't even know how long I wont be celebrating at one of the "LuckyFest/Lucky Day" St. Patrick's day parties. I know we'll do it up RIGHT in Nashville though and ring in 27 with a bang!

Dinner, Jousting, Comedy and Super Bowl Sunday....

I'm going to manage to have date night, watch a jousting match, get in on some improv comedy and watch the Super Bowl ALL in one weekend. Sounds exhausting already!

Tonight Mike and I have date night. A nice way to end a rainy and cold Friday! We usually keep it low key on Friday's so I'm pretty excited to hang out with him tonight and Baby Kona after dinner. We're going to try out Highland Tap for dinner. We've gone for drinks before but never for a full meal. The rumor on the street is that they have great burgers and steaks!

Saturday is hopefully going to be a prettier day here in Atlanta than it was today. I plan on getting up early and hitting up bootcamp to get my metabolism in gear for what the rest of the day will hold. A lot of our friends are turning 30 this year so with that comes fun 30th birthday parties. The one we're going to Saturday night is a surprise party at Medieval Times. What is Medieval Times you might ask? Well it's 2 hrs of jousting in a makeshift 11th century style Medieval Spain castle. Fully equipped with a 4-course meal and hopefully crowns and tiaras. Only caveat...booze is pricey and there is NO silverware...as in, you eat with your hands. Needless to say, I'm stashing some from the office as my nails are too pretty to get nasty turkey leg under neath the nails and my clothes are too nice to have grease running down them!  We're also hitting up another birthday party post jousting and turkey legs. We'll be meeting up with another group for some laughs and hopefully not too embarrassing of a time at Whole World Theatre in downtown Atlanta. Looking forward to so improv comedy. Never been here but we were assured it will be a good time. I'll give you my full report post weekend.

Also this weekend is the clash of the cheese heads and steel makers. The XLV Super Bowl will I'm sure be boring as usual. Sadly, I'm not really a fan of either team so I'll be sporting gold since it is neutral for both teams. I really watch the Super Bowl for the commercials, though the last 2 years I've been quite disappointed with what the advertisers have come up with. Budweiser has already started their "teaser" commercials...even those aren't enticing. The one good thing about Super Bowl Sunday, Glee will have a new episode post game and it looks like Michael Jacksons' Thriller will be jammed out by the lungs of the cast. We're attending a party hosted by our sweet friends Jon and Erin at their home. Can't wait to help cook up some goodies and hang out with our friends. Here's to hoping it'll be nice enough to hang out by the fire pit rather than everyone being inside!

Who are you cheering for?
