Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

While I know it's another Monday and a silly "Hallmark Holiday", I still love Valentine's Day. I tell Mike and those close to me that I love them all the time, but feel like today is a day to really make those who matter to you feel loved. I knew I'd want to be in a good mood today, so I hit up BLAST900 up early at 5:45 to get my morning started. When I got in my car, my navigation popped up a little note.
Guess this was his idea of a card? Either way, it was super sweet and cute. I wish it would stay on all day, but it only pops up the first time you start it up in the morning. Baby Kona and I got Mike some Valentine's Day cards and left them on the counter for him this morning.Got to work and had some chocolate waiting on my from my coworkers. They are too kind. Even though I'm watching what I eat and all, today is a splurge day (hence the workout in the AM!).

A little Valentine elf, perhaps Cupid himself, delivered some goodies as well. They are just too cute to eat! For now they can sit and stare at me from my desk! Mike really does like to make me feel special! Really looking forward to our dinner date tonight at Restaurant Eugene! I'll be sure to re-cap and give my $0.02 on how awesome the joint is.

To everyone out there in blogger-land, whether you "follow" and identify yourself or not, Happy Valentine's Day. Hope you enjoy it with the one you love, animal you love, or doing something that you love. If for nothing else, do something for yourself today! Everyone deserves to feel loved and special!

All You Need Is Love

photo via here
Mike and I have decided to hit up one of Atlanta's little gems for Valentine's Day. While we haven't been to this restaurant before, we have heard nothing but rave reviews about it. Located on Peachtree Road in the heart of Buckhead, Restaurant Eugene is one of a kind.

Focusing on local farmers and creating dishes from scratch, Restaurant Eugene doesn't disappoint. Through supporting local farmers and suppliers they were able to start a Saturday morning farmers market just a few blocks away to ensure that their deliveries are fresh and local. This open air farmers market allows the public to also come and mingle, meet the farmers themselves and the ability to purchase local grown fruits, veggies and other healthy food! Typically we try to hit up this farmers market a few times a month. It's a great place to get veggies, health food and a quick and healthy lunch on a Saturday.

We're looking forward to heading to Restaurant Eugene on Valentine's for their 4-course pre-fixed menu. I can't wait to see what they serve us and to soak up the atmosphere. Post dinner we'll head home to hang out with Miss Kona and share the Valentine's love with her too since she's our baby girl!

No matter if you're spending Valentine's with your boyfriend, husband, wife, best friend or puppy... spend it with someone that you love and enjoy!

Happy 2nd Anniversary to Marco and Britney!

I know I JUST posted about the 3rd Anniversary of my best friend, Kerri and her husband Scott, but today marks the 2nd Anniversary of my dear friend Britney and her husband Marco.
Britney and I met in 3rd grade. We lived in the same neighborhood, went to the same school and well, kind of had to be friends. Good thing we liked hanging out together huh!?

Brit is awesome. She's smart, sweet and always there when you need to talk or vent. She and Marco have been together longer than I can remember. I think they met our Freshman year at Chattahoochee High School. When they finally got engaged, I was so excited for her. I can remember talking about being a bridesmaid at LA Fitness after he popped the question! Her wedding was a blast (even though I had to watch some of the UGA/UA game during the reception), it was def. one of my favorites. I was honored to be in the wedding since her other 3 bridesmaids were family! Britney will join me, all the way from LA, to be a part of my day this coming April! Here are some fun shots from their big day!

Can't Believe It's Been 3 Years!

HAPPY 3rd ANNIVERSARY KERRI and SCOTT!
I can't believe 3 years ago today my best friend got married. It was the most beautiful day and her wedding was perfect. I had a blast, from what I can remember...thanks Makers Mark and I can pretty much say everyone who was there did as well.

Kerri and I have been friends since 6th grade where we met at Taylor Road Middle School. After she got over calling me 'Sufer Girl' we realized we had what it took to have a longstanding friendship. From middle school, different high schools, college and then some, we've been able to keep our friendship strong. I'd be willing to say its stronger than it was when we were younger. I was a part of Kerri and Scott's big day and Kerri is now a part of mine as my Matron of Honor.

Candy Hearts, Teddy Bears and Chocolate Martini's Oh My!!

February 14. A beloved day by some, hated by many and for me, just another day in the neighborhood! Mike and I decided not to do too much this year just a nice dinner date on Sunday and some cuddling on the couch.

To start our Valentines weekend, I got an awesome Edible Arrangement from Mike delivered to my office...mind you I was working at home that day :)! It was filled with delicious chocolate covered apples, strawberries and lots of other super tasty fruit and a balloon to boot! Not to mention Atlanta got some pretty white snow on Friday which allowed for a night of staying in. We did however have to walk to Whole Foods which is located just across from our house. On our way, we decided to play a little in the snow!
I also decided to pelt Mike in the back with a snowball :)
And I made a snowman, a pretty pitiful one but hey I'm from the south. I'm not good at snowmen!

All and all, we spent Friday night hanging out with Mike's parents in their condo, a mere 8 floors above us, eating dinner and watching the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. Which I have to say I was less than impressed with. However, the whale thingy they did was pretty epic and now I demand to go whale watching (write that down on the bucket list). Boot camp Saturday morning I must admit was incredible in the snow. We did a bit of snowplowing, a shockingly not too bad AMRAP of runs and snowangels and then a sweet game of snow dodgeball! Just a sidenote, 20 snowangels...way harder than they look! I also hit up Sips n Strokes Saturday afternoon where I painted a pretty fleur de lis! How do you like the final product? Just got hung up in our bathroom as well...yay!

Actual Valentines Day was less exciting, however still a great day with my favorite man! We went to a fantastic dinner at Parker's on Ponce in Decatur, GA and then hit up The Original Chocolate Bar just down the street. The day couldn't have been more relaxing and enjoyable, probably because of the company I was with (I love you Monkey)!

Overall, a great Valentine's Day weekend....how was yours?

Change of Scenery!

So as of September 14, Mike and I will live together...full time...one house. As much as it is exciting, I can't lie, it's a bit scary as well! We've been doing the two house "living together" thing for a little over a year now and finally decided to get rid of my apartment and for me to move into the condo. So far so good. Moving is going great and I've really made his place my home as well. I even snuck in a few BAMA things :) It's the first time in my life that I feel 100% comfortable with someone else and it is nothing but the best feeling around. I couldn't ask for a more supportive guy! Now, just waiting on one more thing.... A RING!

Can't believe it's been a year!!

My boyfriend, Mike, and I have hit that one year mark! Can't believe it! Seems like we've been together forever and I truly don't remember what life was like without him. He has become my best friend and confidant and the person I turn to first for anything. He's been one of the best things that's ever happened to me. Made me more mature, responsible and domesticated :) We're celebrating our first year together with him running his first triathalon and then going to dinner and having some time alone at one of our new favorite hangouts...Holeman and Finch.

Some of my favorite pictures of Mike and I!

At Folly Beach

At the Wildlife Preserve in N. Georgia

Las Vegas at the Bellagio for Cirque du Solei

Check out Holeman and Finch when you're in Atlanta in the Buckhead area, place is a hidden GEM! It's an awesome low key hang out but can be very romantic!

Holy Busy Two Weeks

Just returned home from a great trip to Charleston/Folly Beach, SC. 24 of us stayed in one house on the beach. No cops, no injury and no (well little) drama. Couldn't have been better.

Next adventures: TONS of concerts, Mike's triathalon, Mike and I's 1 year anniversary, Maria's birthday bash and much more!
